Perhaps I have  an “oriented intuition”, which in itself might sound like a contradiction. But I like to think of my body of work as an ensemble of sensations (emotions in the form of images) that I try to guide through technical mastery. And I always hope that this process of “guiding” can bring me the same pleasure as the process of “feeling” those sensations.
